What is the dress code?

Cocktail attire with a garden setting in mind. As the event takes place on grass, we recommend women wear shoes suitable for the outdoors, such as block heels, wedges, or flats.

Is there a welcome party or other events we should know about?

Yes! We’d love to kick off the weekend with you. We are hosting a welcome party at The Broken Tee Brewing Company on Friday, June 27th, at 8:00 pm, in Highwood. Highwood is a great place to hang out before or after the wedding for great drinks and food!

For all immediate family members and all those in the wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen), you will receive further invitations to rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, starting at 4:30 pm on Friday the 27th.

Are there recommended hotels nearby?

Yes! We have a hotel block at The Forester (see Travel and Lodging Page.) If you are opting for another hotel nearby, The Hilton Garden Inn- Lake Forest is another option. Looking for an especially quaint place to stay? Check out the Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest!

What is there to do in Lake Forest?

Lake Forest is a charming town with beautiful lakefront views, local shops, and great spots for a relaxing walk or bite to eat. We recommend visiting Market Square, walking the trails at Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve, or spending some time by Lake Michigan (our favorite!) Highwood, only minutes from the hotel block, has a great variety of food and breweries. If you have the time, a trip to Chicago is a must (take the Metra train directly from Lake Forest into Chicago, or plan to drive about 40 minutes from the venue without traffic.)
